Favorite Moments of 2012:

  • Driving to Metz, France for Sephora with the Amanda.
  • Finding an egg in my calzone. Darn French.
  • Going to London with my mother.
  • Going to Florida with Papa Bear.
  • Stealing oranges from the neighbor's orange trees in the dark with the cousin. Bringing them home and realizing they were all rotten. All that sneaking around for nothing.
  • Getting stranded at sea, or, in this case, river, and having Eva pull us back to shore.
  • Getting videos like this one from Jana:

  • Going to New York for Spring Break and seeing the Crandalls. Minus one.
  • Eating my first panini, drinking pear juice for the first time, laying in Central Park, walking through Times Square at night.
  • Bringing my mom to experience Rexburg.
  • "Deep Talk" with the roommate every night before bed.
  • Driving to Jackson Hole with Amanda.
  • Going to Nauvoo and all the places in between.
  • New York for the 4th of July and surviving the firetruck sirens during the parade.
  • Having study sessions with this kid and having it go more like this. But with pizza, of course.

  • Going with Parker and Jana to their grandparents home in Wyoming. First time canoeing, roasting starbursts and riding on a four wheeler.
  • Rigby lake with Clarice, Spencer and Jana. I made Clarice swim across it with me since she was getting married. It made sense then.
  • Visiting Amanda and her grandparents.
  • Daily City Creek runs in Utah with Amanda.
  • Almost falling in the fountain in Temple Square.
  • Visiting Papa Bear in New York and learning how to drive.
  • Visiting Kayla at her home in Park City, Utah. Wedding dress hunting!
  • Staying with Jana for three weeks in August/September. So thankful.
  • Road tripping with Jana to Virginia and visiting Lindsay.
  • Giving myself a black eye as a nine year old watched.
  • Labor Day celebration at West Point.
  • Giving my first talk ever in church. I'll write it out next time.
  • Going to Prague with the Cherringtons.
  • Watching these dorks chant with an "indian" homeless man.

  • My dad brought home two cute kittens. George and Wincy.
  • Seeing President Monson's talk in Frankfurt then seeing him at the temple!
  • Going to the Christmas market in Cologne.
  • Getting Taylor Swift tickets.
  • Christmas morning with the fam bam.
  • Getting my new camera!

Call Me Snow White

Because I look like her.

I'll start from the beginning.

I decided to go visit my best fraaaan, Amanda, in Utah before heading home to New York for the summer. Whenever we get together, it equals disaster. It's inevitable. It's fun but almost always has some sort of consequence. This time it was my hair. But we're not to that part of the story yet.

I get to Utah on Saturday morning and the first thing we do, after struggling to get the suitcase in the trunk (holy heaviness!) is go to lunch. Pizza, pizza, pizza. I could live on pizza. So goood! Then we head to City Creek for a day of shopping. I don't know what I love more, pizza or shopping. We hit all the best stores, of course.

I went crazy in H&M and Forever21 while Amanda tried on a million lipsticks in Sephora. Actually, not gonna lie, we both tried on lipsticks but only Amanda bought one. Ha, no. She bought one, returned it for another at a different mall and then returned that one two days later to City Creek. That's how that went. We're not cut out for bright red lips. This was only round one of shopping though. I'll leave out what happened at dinner time but it made my day. Poor Amanda broke out in hives! hehehe.

Then we went to dinner at Costa Vida. Sweet Pork Nachos. Another staple in my life. A yummy staple. From there we went to visit Amanda's grandma at rehab. She just had surgery and they load her up on the pain meds so it's always fun to talk to her after those lovely doses. This night took the cake though.

We get there and she's telling us how there's this amazingly cute boy named Jason working there. He would be perfect for Amanda because he's a bit short and, uhm, CUTE! So we are sitting in her room talking about our day and theres a knock at the door. In comes "Jason". Amanda's grandma says, "Hiiiii, Jason!" "Uh, I'm not Jason...I'm Taylor." "Oh, well this is my granddaughter and her friend." "Oh, that's nice. I'll come back later then." "Well don't you want to meet them?" "Alright, let's meet them then." ...awkward. So we went on to meet Taylor and run into him on our way out. Lovely.

Then we go to Walmart for the necessities of life. Wanna know what's by those necessities? Hair dye. So I get the lovely idea to have Amanda dye my hair. I pick out dark brown. Dark, dark brown. BROWN. We check out and head home.

Once home, Amanda reads the instructions like. 4 times. At least. We sit in the bathroom and she starts. I had little faith in her and say aloud, "I should have waited and had Jana do it." Well, that pushed a button and she says, "I'm going to do a freakin' amazing job! Forget Jana." This led to dye going everywhere. Everywhere. Including all down my hands and on Amanda's leg. The yellow towel? Now brown.

After the dye was in for a while, Amanda says, "How we washin' this out?" And I tell her in the bathtub. "That's cool," she says, "but we don't have a detachable shower nozzle." Awesome. So here we are with a pitcher pouring water over my head. Then me dunking my head in the bucket of water. It was a mess. The bathtub now has a brown tint and brown water splatters everywhere. It's great. After getting all the dye out, we dry my hair. There was no difference between the color of my wet hair and the color of my dry hair. It's that dark. Whoaaa.

It's starting to grow on me though. I'm a more beautiful Snow White. Especially with the new make-up we bought at City Creek : ).

P.S. Four people asked us why we didn't just rinse my hair out in the ginormous kitchen sink. We're dumb.

It Made Us Smile

Quotes from this Weekend:
"Uhh...Did I just tell someone they couldn't go into the temple?" -Amanda
"Yes. Yes, you did." -Emily

"How's your night going?" -Grandpa
"It's going really good. I got a hot chick's number!" -Burger King Worker
"You want two more?" *Looks at Amanda and I in the back* -Grandpa

"I already threw up a little in my mouth!" -Kid at Lagoon

"So how did you two end up in Temple Square today?" -Sister Missionaries
"Well...To be honest, I was trying samples in Sephora and they had bronzer stuff. So I tried it and it turned my finger brown. I had to wash it off. The visitor's center was the nearest bathroom." -Emily
"But we like it here. It's so nice!" -Amanda

"Are there any feelings there? I mean, how is your heart?" -Grandma

"How long has this been here?" *looks at burger place* -Amanda
"A long time...forever...Adam found it." -Grandpa

*After shopping at AE* "Now I have pants! Now I just need a shirt to go with them. And maybe some clothes for church." -Emily
"Did you bring anything with you?!" -Amanda

*While on the sky ride at Lagoon* "Let's have deep conversation." -Emily
"Okay. What do you want to talk about? Let's think of something." -Amanda
...."My foot just hit that tree." -Emily

"One difference between Burger King and McDonalds is that they speak English at Burger King and Spanish at McDonalds. Not that there is anything wrong with Spanish. It's okay because I can understand it." -Grandpa

"So have you two thought about serving a mission?" -Sister Missionaries
"Yes, we were just talking about that. We were saying how we'd love to. You guys have such cute clothes!" -Amanda
"But that wasn't the only reason." -Emily

*Guy walks up to temple door* "Yo! What the heck is this thing for?!" -Guy

"What did you guys get at CitiCreek?" -Sister Missionaries
"Pants." -Emily
"Shorts!" -Amanda
"Oh! How nice. Stuff we no longer get to enjoy. You two will have to do that for us!" -Sister Missionaries

No Fun No More.

The end of the semester is coming up waaay too fast. As always, I have procrastinated in every way possible. It's what I'm good at...unfortunately. Like right now for instance. I have a paper to write, a book to read & write a report on, a few worksheets and a presentation to prepare. All for next week. It's crunch time, folks! But I'm going to Utah tomorrow anyways. Fun just sounds more appealing than homework :)
